70 Mile Ride

Updated: Mar 1st, 2008

Overview

This route is by no means a mere extension of the 35 or 50 mile courses. Indeed, shortly beyond the 50 mile turnaround point, the road tilts skyward as you climb to Carter Lake, a short but challenging climb. The added elevation is more than worth it, though, for the ride along Carter Lake’s shores and the descent into the valley are truly refreshing.

Details

Start time for this ride is at 8am, and there are seven aid stations along the way to keep your legs and lungs going.

Video

Ryan Van Duzer returned to the event once again and chronicled his journey. From the sounds of it, he doubled not only his distance (riding the 100 mile course) but also his normal calorie intake. Thanks, Ryan!
