It’s Not About the Hat
This cap, featuring the Elevations Credit Union Buffalo Bicycle Classic’s 10th anniversary logo and emblazoned with “CENTURY” on the bill, is a great reward for completing either of our 100-mile rides.
So is the Buff Epic hat pin, which will adorn the century caps of those who complete the Buff Epic, this year’s new and challenging century, which ascends Boulder Canyon and follows nearly 60 miles of the mountainous route of Stage 6 of the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
The hat and epic pin confer big bragging rights.
But the hat that matters is the graduation cap worn by our growing number of scholarship recipients—students who, without your help, might not graduate.
To date, the Elevations Buffalo Bicycle Classic has raised more than $1.6 million in scholarship funds for qualified University of Colorado students who are in financial need. More than 730 scholarships have been awarded.
It’s more than a ride; it’s a scholarship.
This year, we host six routes for the wide range of cyclists. Besides our two “century” rides (the Buff Epic and the Foothills Century), we feature the 70-mile, 50-mile, 35-mile and the 14-mile “Little Buff” ride, this year co-sponsored by the Center for People With Disabilities.

About The Ride
The Buffalo Bicycle Classic is a cycling fundraiser. Since 2003, more than $1.8 million in scholarships have been awarded to promising students in CU-Boulder’s College of Arts and Sciences.

In recent years, the ride has attracted 2,500 participants -- CU alumni, kids in trailers, professional cyclists and everyone in between. Participants choose a course from several options and ride at their own pace. The shortest course, the "Little Buff," explores the wonderful bike path network in the City of Boulder. In 2013, we're adding ten miles to the Buff Epic up Boulder Canyon, and changing the course to include the Carter Lake climb.
